If you are motivated when it comes to protecting children against the harms of pornography, and would like to be an integral part of the solution, we would like to speak with you. eChildhood serves an audience of Parents, Professional Service Providers, Government and Non-Government Stakeholders, Youth and Children. We fit within the community segment of Child and Online Safety and Welfare, Mental Health, Public Safety, Education, Health and Wellbeing. Our approach is informed by evidence-based research. As a nationally based team, applicants may be based anywhere in Australia as all essential meetings are held online. When we do host team get-togethers and meetings they are held in Sydney. Positions are volunteer and are not accompanied by financial remuneration, although out of pocket expenses may be reimbursed.
KEY VOLUNTEER ROLES
SOCIAL MEDIA COMMUNITY COORDINATOR
You are an optimistic and self-motivated individual who has a strong and heartfelt connection with our vision to empower our national community to enable the protection of our children and young people’s Human Rights to a porn-free childhood.
You’re well versed in the world of social media, both as a private and business user. You’ve studied marketing and communications and understand the role of social media as part of an integrated marketing strategy. You are familiar with how to use social media platforms for business purposes, you are happy to work autonomously and collaborate with a team to bounce ideas and secure alignment. You have excellent written communication skills and a natural ability to create engaging social media posts leveraging our experts’ content provided to you.
ABOUT THE JOB
To keep our social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter) up-to-date and interesting, post relevant articles and news, answer questions and comments from the public, promote the projects we run and more, all the while protecting and building up our well-established reputation. Whilst we deal with serious and sensitive topics, we always lead with an optimistic and solutions-focused attitude, and we use humor where relevant to engage with our followers and supporters.
Communications or marketing students are encouraged to apply, preferably someone local to Sydney who we can meet with for regular updates and catch-ups. You can work from home, hours are flexible and training will be provided.
WHAT IS THE TIME COMMITMENT WE ARE LOOKING FOR?
Volunteering 4 hours a week, with the flexibility to work up to 8 hours per week when we are designing ad hoc pre-planned projects, once a month. You will be working with our 2020 pre-planned communications strategy which requires your expert creative input. We are offering a 3month rolling contract, and training will be provided around the latest research/ solutions. This is your opportunity to play a pivotal role in groundbreaking communication projects and positively influence the lives of children and youth in Australia.
